of us at MC Sports recognize our responsibility to give back
to the communities where we live and work. One of the ways we
fulfill that responsibility is through our participation in scrip
through the Great Lakes Scrip Center.
The Great Lakes
Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other non-profit
organizations to purchase large amounts of gift cards (scrip)
from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers like
MC Sports. Because the gift cards are purchased in bulk by the
Center, participating retailers offer a substantial discount.
Non-profit and other organizations buy the gift cards from the
Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount and re-sell them to their
members for full face value. The bulk of the discount is retained
by the organization as revenue.
